Elemental Excelerator

Founded in 2012 by CEO Dawn Lippert in collaboration with Emerson Collective, Elemental Excelerator (formerly Energy Excelerator) is a global nonprofit climate technology accelerator headquartered in Honolulu, Hawaii with offices in the Bay Area. Each year, Elemental funds 15–20 companies up to $1 million each to improve systems in energy, mobility, water, agriculture, and circular economy.

Elemental Excelerator has built one of the largest climate technology portfolios in the world with over 150 portfolio companies. These companies have raised over $8 billion in additional follow-on funding. The accelerator uses Hawaii as a world-class testbed for deploying climate solutions, while expanding deployments across California, Asia-Pacific, and the Southeast United States.

Elemental Excelerator founded and manages XLR8®, a series of community-focused accelerator and incubator programs. XLR8UH® is an award-winning venture accelerator investing in University of Hawaii entrepreneurs and technologies — ranked by Forbes as one of the top 30 accelerators in the nation. XLR8HI® serves as Hawaii's Entrepreneurship Center, and XLR8YOUTH™ is a first-of-its-kind innovation intensive for youth. In 2024, Elemental Excelerator acquired Acasia Group, expanding its global reach into the Middle East, Africa, and beyond.
