Startup Capital Ventures (SCV) is an early-stage venture capital firm headquartered in Menlo Park, California, with a strong operational presence in Honolulu, Hawaii. The firm invests in Seed to Series A technology software companies across FinTech, Enterprise/SaaS, and Deep Tech sectors. SCV has over two decades of experience in the venture capital ecosystem.

The SCV x SBI Fund, a joint venture with Japanese financial services firm SBI, is led by Managing Director Donavan Kealoha (based in Honolulu) and Managing Director Tom Marckx (30+ years VC experience). The fund invests in early-stage B2B software and technology startups. SCV was named HVCA's 2024 Investor of the Year for significant contributions to Hawaii's startup ecosystem.

Startup Capital Ventures founded and manages XLR8®, a series of community-focused accelerator and incubator programs. XLR8UH® is an award-winning venture accelerator investing in University of Hawaii entrepreneurs and technologies — ranked by Forbes as one of the top 30 accelerators in the nation. XLR8HI® serves as Hawaii's Entrepreneurship Center, and XLR8YOUTH™ is a first-of-its-kind innovation intensive for youth.
